Crazy Times

So this time of year is a crazy time at work for me and this year was no different I have been running in every direction since the week before Thanksgiving so needless to say things like blogs, decorating for Christmas and shopping for Christmas go by the way side. Lets put it this way I have not even colored or cut my hair since the week before Halloween and my greys are showing bad that is how busy it has been. (Don't worry I have a hair appointment on Wednesday) My mom and even girls at work have been wondering how long it would be before I put up my tree and do my shopping well we finally starting seeing light last week so I did my shopping over the weekend and today I finally put up my tree. I know a little late to the game but it is not Christmas yet. Chase is officially on Christmas break so that is different he likes school a lot so he is kind of bummed that he doesn't go to school for 2 weeks. Oh well I'm just glad that things are calming down so I'm going to catch up of a few pics as well. So here we go... more coming soon!
Proof that my tree is finally up!

School Pictures

Chase got his school pictures back on Friday! I'm was so excited he is growing up so fast and he looks so grown up. It has been a rough couple of weeks we have been sick and it has not been fun we started out as one day a fever for Chase and then he felt fine except for the cough he had. Then a week later I got sick and man did I get sick I was flat in bed for 3 days all I could do was sleep I could not even think clearly finally on the third day I went to the doctor and found out that I had bronchitis with a sinus infection and thanks to the bronchitis my asthma has kicked back up. I was home for 4 days before I felt like I could go back to work it was awful and in the process Forrest got it a little bit and Chase just kept coughing. So after 10 days of coughing I took Chase to the doctor because I was starting to worry. The doctor took one look at him and said yep he doesn't look good and there for a couple of hours we thought he had walking phenomia but the x-ray came back clean so we just had to do a z-pack and now we are finally back on the mend. Just in time for Thanksgiving and hopefully a family pic for some holiday cards I need to order. But first we have to get Rashelle, Forrest and Colby back from the big hunting trip to Loomis, WA and hopefully they will bring home some real big dead deer!

Happy Halloween!

this was a very busy week for the Chase. It all started Thursday when he had to wear a cap to school and take a treat for the class that started with the letter C. So we talked to Grandma Stucki and she was nice enough to make some circle sugar cookies with a candy corn on top. Boy for one little boy that is a lot of Cs. Then on Friday he got to wear his costume to school and then the kindergarten classes had a little costume parade through the school singing the Halloween songs they had learned the last week few weeks then they had a party in their class room. And all of that happened before Halloween! Trick or Treating was fun. Forrest went with Rashelle and I and we ran around like crazy people and topped it off with a trunk or treat. Needless to say the kids have tons of candy! I know I have been a bad blogger I will try to be better this has been so crazy.

Hunting Season Round 1

As most of you know hunting season has started and so everything revolves around Forrest going to the hills and the various people that come and go during that time some stay with us and so don't. Chase likes it because he gets lots of sleep overs Rashelle and the kids come up and stay to save on gas and effort. This past weekend it was nice weather so I took the kids to the splash park and they had a great time. Well the night before Forrest birthday 9-9-09 this year he gave himself an early birthday present. One BIG bear! Because it was almost dark when he shot it they waited till morning to go find it. So Forrest had a good birthday finding his bear then after I got off work Rashelle and I made dinner and we celebrated both. So now all we need is an Elk in the freezer for winter and a deer for jerky and we might make it around here. You don't know how hard it is to come up with recipes that don't require hamburger because I'm almost out so I'm rationing for "special occasions" well hopefully we will have more pics soon!

This bear was at least 380 lbs.

Forrest's brother Colby got a bear as well and Rashelle was in the blind with him when it happened.

First Day of School

Yes it has finally come Chase's first day of school. Because of everything that was going on at work and the lack of people I could not go so, Forrest took Chase. It was more of a ceremonial day because it only lasted one hour but it was still the first day of Kindergarten. Forrest was a good Dad and even took the camera so I had a few pics of the day. Chase has been waiting for 2 years for this day to come. Now for a report of the action Forrest Carter -
My slave drivers of bosses gave me the morning off to take care of the orientation day at kindergarten. Chase was a happy boy that morning and very excited. I got up early and moved pipe in the field that Dad's been irrigating and came home to the boy and his mother eating blueberry pancakes that she had made. What a nice mother. :) I got ready and even had a pancake myself. We drove to school in Sugar city and as we pulled up there was a policeman at the crossing guard. I was instantly paranoid with all the drugs and firearms I had in the truck, but we made it through ok. We pulled into the parking lot and I had to swerve to miss all the kids, they had the whole lot filled up. I missed most of them, but I still got a couple. I'm not sure if I get points for them. :) OK, we get out and walked into the school. I got a pic or two of Chase by the sign so we would have them for his memories. I walked into the school with him and asked for Mrs. Clintons classroom. It was down at the end of the hall though the books to the left. Chase new exactly how to follow the instructions and found the room. Mrs. Clinton showed him where to hang his backpack. We went into the classroom and found his chair and I got busy on signing him up. I got all his sign in stuff done and even signed Michelle up for all the PTA stuff and all the special programs that require her to do all kinds of extra things that all the "status" mom's do. I hope she doesn't mind. ;p While I was signing them up I was approached by all the mothers there that thought I was just the shit because I was there. You'd think they had never seen a man before the way they were all over me. I have several dates lined up later. I'll post pics and stories of that later. ;) After we were done, I found where chase gets on the bus to come home and he found his bus, the happy hen, and introduced him to his driver. He screamed and bawled that he hated her and she was a mean looking old lady, so I took him home to his daycare and went back to work where I promptly had my ass chewed by the boss and all the employees hate me now. So that was the day. :)
Ok so that was a little much but I will let it stand :) :) :) So here are some of the pics!

Late Posting

Sorry I'm late posting the pics and stuff from our Iowa trip. It has been a crazy week. We were basically not home all week and Friday I was so tired from working the garage sale at work that I did not do a whole lot. We had a ton of fun in Iowa we did one big activity each day so we did not get to worn out. Mark was a great cook the whole time and even though the weather was a little cooler than normal, it was still enjoyable, especially since it was in the high 90s back at home in Idaho. So to shorten the story, Tuesday we went to Chuck E Cheese, Wednesday we went to Honey Creek Resort and went swimming for 3 hours straight, Thursday we swam for another 2 hours then came home and went to the city square for the evening band concert. Friday we went to Des Moines Blank Park Zoo then when we got home Jesse took me out for a night on the town in Oskaloosa for my last night there. I met tons of Jesse's friends and they are all cool and fun to hang around with. Saturday consisted of packing and driving back to the KCI airport. We had so much fun my urge to move out there is back and hopefully I will make it some day. Now that I have thought about all the fun it is time to get my house cleaned and the laundry done it has been so hot lately that I was to get it done before the house gets to hot and I don't want to do anything.

12 Little Puppies

Well as most of you know Chase and I are spending our "Summer Work Program" week in Iowa with Lonna. So early Saturday morning we drove to SLC and got on the airplane and flew to Kansas City, MO Karrie, Forrest's sister picked us up from the airport and we spent the day and evening with her it was good to see her and meet her new husband Dave. We played Guitar Hero, sat on the side of the pool with our feet in and had a fun time. The next day we drove to Lamoni, IA and met Lonna there was a cute little Amish store hooked on to a Maid-Rite place so we did a little shopping and eating then we came home. Today we went to the park and checked out the swimming pool and drove around in Jesse's convertible Chase keep calling it a transformer because of the top going up and down. Then when we came back Jesse stopped over at one of the police officer's house that had rescued 12 little puppies the day before they were left on a street corner all 12 of them in a little kennel. Jesse felt bad for the runt "Pete" he was getting picked on by the others and could not get any food so she brought him home for a visit Chase had lots of fun with him and we got him to eat and drink it was a fun little afternoon project. Here is a pic well more stories to come later.

Rinehart 100

This weekend we went to Pocatello for the Rinehart 100. It is a 3D tournament Rashelle's and Zane's first one. So we went down yesterday after Rashelle got off work. We left Chase with Jerry, April and the kids and made it an overnighter. We did not get down there til after 4 so we thought that they could not shoot so we just went over to get registered for the next day but when we got there they said that we could still go out so we did. Not prepared for the 50 targets I had my 3" thick flip flops on and Rashelle was still dressed for work. But we still went out anyway. We were doing fairly well until the terrain got a really rough and I twisted my ankle and the strap on my flip flop broke. We were on target 47-48 out of 50 so Forrest called one of the ladies that was helping run it and her and her husband came up and got us all I had to do is walk to the safety trail that was down hill and about 100 yards away. I was really glad I had other sandals (good walking and low) at the hotel. After that we went to dinner and relaxed the rest of the night. Today we shot the last 50 targets with out any disasters except for Rashelle loosing a couple of arrows on some tough targets. We all got a little sun burnt but it was nice to see the sun for two days in a row. It was a great time for all and I got two new pairs of sandals out of it for playing caddie and breaking the ones I had on :)

Fun with Cousins

My sister that now lives in Indiana and her whole family came for a visit for 10 days. Most of the time she spent it down in Utah with the Newtons but she came up for part of last week. I took Friday off work to spend time with her and the kids. We took Chase, Carly and Joseph to the park and rode the carousel and played at the water park as well. Unfortunately the clouds moved in and the wind picked up so by the end of the kids were freezing but they still had fun.

Then that evening we had a hot dog roast down at Aunt Pattie's house and Grandpa gave tractor rides that was cut short as well thanks to a severe thunderstorm that we did not learn till later that it had upper level rotation. I love watching storms so I was loving it. We drove home on the leading edge of the storm and the winds were very strong I had a big branch from a tree fall right on the windshield while I was driving on the highway. I must say that was a little scary but other than that it was cool. It was a very busy weekend being with family and helping friends so needless to say I am wiped out. It is going to be a busy week too so I better just post some pics and get the 3 boys in my house haircuts they, are starting to bug me :) they are so annoying, I mean Geez, asking a cosmetologist for haircuts. They are so inconveniencing me. The men in the house of a cosmetologist are always last, DON'T THEY KNOW THE RULES!!!!!!! For petes sake! I mean, it's not like my husband has any hair anyway. (see picture for reference)

Just for the record that last few sentences where changed by Forrest but I laughed so hard I decided to leave them :)

We made it home

We made it home last night. We had so much fun even though it was a little rough at the start but it got better everyday. We were totally lost the first day or so we were there but we got the lay of the land and where to find everything and how to communicate with people that speak another language and only some of the people know a little English. We spent time at the beach, the pool meeting new people and many other fun stuff. Rashelle's never been to the ocean and the beach before so she got that experience and she was practically giddy over feeling the water and sand in her feet as well as the sand getting everywhere on you. It was so hot there and we both were sweating a lot we could not bring ourselves to wear makeup or do our hair. Rashelle had a bunch of sun dresses and that was the way to go, the lighter the better. The place that we said was an all inclusive place so we got food, drink, snacks and trips to the beach for FREE. We had so much fun I have so many stories and they are all just floating around in my head right now so maybe I will type another chapter later and tell some of the stories. So for now here are some pics.

Costa Rica Pics

A few sad days

Forrest's grandfather passed away early Friday morning he was 93 and a great man. Even though it was a rough few days it was still good to see lots of family and some I have never met before. The weather was fairly good a little windy at the cemetery but nothing compared to what we experienced today. Here is a link to a story on the local news about the wind today and pics from the viewing. http://www.localnews8.com/global/story.asp?s=10349433
